What will I be making in the workshop?
You'll create your own pinch pot pieces using traditional hand-building techniques. This hands-on experience allows you to shape, smooth, and design your ceramics just the way you like.
What kind of clay do you use?
I use high-temperature stoneware (gres) clay, which produces durable pieces that can withstand daily use. Once completed, your ceramics will be safe for the microwave, dishwasher, and oven.
How long is the workshop?
Approximately 3 hours.
What happens after I make my piece?
Once you've finished building your pieces, they will need to dry slowly and naturally for about 10 days. After that, your ceramics will go through a two-step firing process in the kiln:

First firing at 900°C – this is when your creation becomes a solid ceramic piece, though it remains porous at this stage.
Second firing at 1250°C – your piece will be glazed and then fired again, creating a finished, non-porous ceramic work.
Can I take my ceramics home on the same day?
No, because the pieces need to dry and go through the firing process, they won't be ready to take home immediately.
How long does the entire process take?
The drying and firing process typically takes about 3 to 4 weeks to complete. After that, I will carefully pack and ship your finished piece to you.
